MFX Ltd, the Manx-based international payments and currency management specialists, have announced the key appointment of Donna Crellin as Chair and Non-Executive Director.
A prominent figure in the Isle of Man business community, Donna joins the MFX Board with immediate effect.
It’s a significant step forward for the expanding company – a wholly owned subsidiary of the AIM-listed Manx Financial Group (MFG) – as it looks to extend its corporate clientele on Island and in the UK.
Donna brings a wealth of highly relevant industry experience into her new role at MFX. With a 25-year career in the financial services sector, encompassing international treasury expertise, alongside banking, e-gaming, and FinTech, she has been exposed to all levels of management, particularly Board, Director, and Senior Management positions.
An expert in cash and investment management, foreign exchange, and global financial strategies, she currently runs her own company, providing consultancy services across treasury, strategic management and start-ups.
A native Australian who has been an Isle of Man resident since 1997, Donna was previously Director of Treasury at PokerStars and Senior Manager of Treasury at Canada Life International. She was also the Chief Administrative Officer for MuchBetter, whose group is a holder of an FCA EMI license.
Donna also currently sits on the Executive Committee of the Isle of Man IoD and is a Board Trustee of the Manx Solidarity Fund.
MFX Managing Director, May Hooper, said she was delighted that Donna had accepted the role. “To welcome someone of Donna’s calibre and experience will be invaluable to the MFX business. Primarily, our clients have foreign exchange requirements and with Donna’s background in foreign exchange and treasury, as well as being very well connected on Island, this seemed like a superb fit for us,” May commented.
“In addition, Donna will be totally impartial, something I regard as extremely important. Together with her appreciation and understanding of corporate governance, I have no doubt that she will bring a great deal to our Board,” May added.
Talking about her new role within MFX, Donna said she was delighted to be teaming up with such a successful and go-ahead company.
“I have known May Hooper for many years, she is someone I hold in high regard, and I am delighted to have been given this opportunity to join the Board,” she explained. “MFX is a very successful company, a real nugget on the Isle of Man and I can’t wait to get started.
“A major focus will be helping MFX broaden its customer base and to ensure that they continue their successful trajectory. Donna explained, adding that MFX’s position within the Manx Financial Group was also of significance. “Being part of this successful local Group is a really attractive proposition.,” she noted.
Founded in 2014, MFX has seen significant growth in recent years. The business is one of the key worldwide partners of Moneycorp, the FX and international payment specialists.
